Wedding Ideas, on a budget?

Hi ok so last night my partner sat me down and told me that he wants us to set a date and start planing our wedding we have been engaged for just over 5 years and we have had 2 pregnancies so the who marriage thing was all put on hold.

im over the moon that he has said this and am very excited to start planning a wedding.

we dont have that much savings and anything we do have we want to keep for our kids so we are trying to find ways to cut the cost, there is a local hotel that means alot to both of us so we have said that that will be the venue and you can get married there also,

my question is that if me and my partner (in separate rooms) and the whole wedding party where to stay in the hotel the night before the wedding and get dressed in the hotel it would save alot of money on cars on the big day, has anyone heard of this and if so did it work well?
