How much does a typical UK wedding cost?

Me and my partner got engaged last month. We are in the process of saving for a wedding now. I just need to know an average wedding price. We're both atheists, want nothing too fancy and don't want the world and his wife coming. Just a pretty little ceremony at a registry office, and then a nice classy bar hired out for a first dance, and drinks ect.
But what will we have to pay for exactly? In regards to decs, bridesmaid dresses, food, drink, ect..
Basically, what's a cheap and cheerful wedding gonna cost me? I just don't feel like saving for years for one day.
